Juneau is home, and I was raised by a strong, hard-working Alaskan family. Whatever I have been able to accomplish in my life, has been because my ancestors, elders, and community leaders have made it possible. I bring this level of accountability and my Haida, Tlingit and Ahtna Athabascan roots with me in every aspect of my life. Equity is always at the forefront of my work and will be centered in my leadership on the Assembly.
The fragility of Juneau’s economy was highlighted during the pandemic, especially the resulting impact on tourism. I'm thankful for the support of Congress and our State to help our community. We must work with all leaders across our diverse communities within the CBJ and the greater region to identify opportunities to continue our recovery and diversify our economy.
Our limited housing strains those who call Juneau home. There are many limitations that hinder the ability for the CBJ to grow housing, but I also know that collaboration and building relationships can shift and grow options. We must be willing to explore industry-led solutions and community-led innovations
